J.C. Frey
J.C. Frey is a managing partner for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors’ energy infrastructure and renewable infrastructure strategies and has been at the firm for more than 25 years. During his tenure, he co-founded Kayne’s listed energy infrastructure group and has grown it into one of the leading energy infrastructure platforms. More recently, he has expanded the infrastructure platform to include renewables and was named co-head of Kayne’s renewable platform. Frey is one of the longest-tenured portfolio managers in the listed infrastructure sector, and currently oversees $4 billion in assets consisting of equity and debt securities.
Frey joined Kayne in 1997, launched Kayne’s first energy infrastructure fund in 2000, and has served as portfolio manager since its inception. As a co-founding partner of KA Fund Advisors, LLC, the adviser to Kayne’s publicly traded closed-end funds, he was instrumental in the creation and initial public offering of Kayne Anderson Energy Infrastructure Fund, Inc. (NYSE: KYN) in 2004, the largest publicly traded energy infrastructure closed-end fund in the market today. Frey was also responsible for the 2010 initial public offering of and public investments for Kayne Anderson NextGen Energy & Infrastructure, Inc. (NYSE: KMF).
As co-head of renewables, Frey has helped position Kayne’s strategy to invest in the global energy transition. He created and launched the first renewable energy infrastructure fund of its kind in 2017, and participated in the creation of Kayne’s first mutual fund in 2020. Additionally, Frey oversees a team of 20 investment professionals and manages several other commingled partnerships and separate accounts on behalf of a distinguished list of high net worth, family offices and institutional clients.
Prior to joining Kayne Anderson, Frey was an audit manager in KPMG Peat Marwick’s financial services group, specializing in banking and finance clients, and loan securitizations. Frey is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a B.S. in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in 1990 and a Master of Taxation from the University of Southern California in 1991.
Jeffrey Gitterman
Jeff Gitterman is a widely recognized leader in the climate change, ESG, and sustainable investing fields, and the creator of SMART (Sustainability Metrics Applied to Risk Tolerance)® Investing Solutions, a suite of global climate-aware allocation strategies available to financial advisory firms and individual investors.
With over 30 years of experience as a financial advisor, Jeff began realigning Gitterman Wealth Management, LLC towards sustainable investing in 2015. In 2020, the firm launched the Gitterman Asset Management brand to house its rapidly expanding ESG strategies, thought leadership, and practice management offerings for the financial advisory and institutional markets. Over the past several years, the firm has hosted many ESG and climate-focused events for financial advisors, including conferences at the United Nations Headquarters, the ESG Practice Playbook series of webinars in partnership with RIA Channel, and most recently, the Climate & Capital Conference at the New York Stock Exchange.
Jeff is also a co-host of TheIMPACT and The Great Repricing shows, which film at the New York Stock Exchange and air on fintech.tv. Noted as an “ESG Expert” by Financial Advisor magazine, he has also been featured in the past in Barron’s, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and CNN, among many others. Ariel Nicholas
Ariel Nicholas, member of the MSCI Climate Change Solutions Team, is responsible for communicating and educating financial market participants in North America on MSCI Climate Solutions data sets and tools for investment decision-making, risk management, reporting and engagement.
Ariel joined MSCI in 2017, where for two years she was a member of the MSCI Wealth Advisory team, then the past two years with the ESG & Climate Coverage Sales Team communicating to institutional investors in the Midwest region ESG investment trends and best practices.
Prior to MSCI, Ariel worked at State Street Global Advisors for two years where she sold SPDR ETFs to wirehouse advisors in the Southern California region.
Ariel graduated with a BA degree in History and Business from the University of Vermont.
Samantha Palm
Samantha Palm is the lead Portfolio Manager of the Parnassus Fixed Income Fund and chair of the macroeconomics team. Ms. Palm has responsibility for fixed income portfolio management and trading and oversees the analysis of macroeconomic indicators that likely affect equity and fixed income markets. Prior to joining Parnassus Investments in 2013, she was a Vice President in Wells Fargo Securities’ fixed income group. Previously, Ms. Palm was an equity research analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co. Ms. Palm graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and applied economics.
Jeff Sheridan
Jeff is co-Head of Business Development at Greenbacker, leading the firm’s efforts with family offices and wealth management institutions and platforms. Before joining the company in 2017, he was the Director of Institutional Sales at Strategic Capital, where he led sales efforts for a platform of alternative investment strategies to the institutional market. He has also worked as a Regional Director for Realty Capital and as a Managing Director at ImpactAssets, where he headed national fundraising efforts for an impact investing and philanthropic platform with ultra-high net worth individuals and institutions. Prior to this, Jeff held vice president positions with MainStay Investments and Fidelity Investments, working with wirehouse institutions and registered investment advisors. Jeff graduated from Babson College, in Wellesley, Massachusetts with a BSBA.

Paul is a nationally recognized expert on sustainable investing, and the host of the popular Sustainable Finance Podcast, a weekly program featuring conversations with thought leaders in the field. His guests include cleantech entrepreneurs and VC investors; CEOs leading the low-carbon economy transition; creators of the ESG indices and analytics platforms everyone is using; and NGO executives bridging the public/private partnership funding chasm through digital banking and blockchain-based technologies.

Megan Fielding
Megan Fielding is a Senior Director and member of the responsible investing (RI) team at Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA.
Nuveen’s responsible investing team oversees the holistic RI vision and unified framework across Nuveen and TIAA, partnering with internal stakeholders on implementation in day-to-day business activities. This framework establishes the firm’s overall RI philosophy and guidelines to incorporate RI disciplines into investment decisions and product development.
Megan leads messaging, education, and compliance activities focused on RI, ESG and investment themes including Climate, Impact and DEI. Additionally, she collaborates with Global Marketing and Communications and TIAA on RI content, thought leadership and events to promote the firm’s RI expertise. Megan serves on the Nuveen Inclusion & Diversity Council to build employee engagement on I&D initiatives and separately, co- chairs the California chapter of Achieve, the firm’s business resource group focused on the professional and personal development of women.
Prior to Nuveen, Megan was head of investments and business development at MicroPlace, an Ebay subsidiary and fintech impact investing platform that facilitated the allocation of investment capital to address global challenges, such as extreme poverty. Earlier, Megan held positions in marketing/sales, product and investment consulting in San Francisco and New York City.
Megan received her M.A. in International Studies from the University of San Francisco, graduated cum laude with her B.A. in Economics from Wheaton College (MA), and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst®. She currently serves as Ambassador for FINCA International, amplifying stories of sustainable social enterprises and entrepreneurs across five continents.

Michael Rhim
Michael Rhim is a Principal with PRM and heads the defined contribution practice for the firm. He joined PRM in 2008 after serving for over 20 years as a Regional Vice President for TIAA, one of the largest retirement financial services firms in the country. He has over 35 years of experience in the investment and retirement community.
Mr. Rhim received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University. He completed his CEBS designation which is sponsored by the Wharton School in Pennsylvania. He has held several FINRA licenses for financial securities, as well as insurance licenses from 14 states and the District of Columbia.
Gabe Rissman

Rick Smyers
Rick is a Managing Director in Fidelity Labs, Fidelity’s internal fintech business incubator. Since 2018, he has led the team behind ESG Pro, the sustainable investing software platform for independent advisors. Built with extensive input from financial advisors, ESG Pro is designed to make it easy for advisors to build and grow a sustainable investing practice.
In his prior role in the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology, Rick was responsible for programs to drive innovation at scale at Fidelity. He joined Fidelity in 2004 in the Fidelity Consulting Group, where he was responsible for leading projects focused on growth strategies, new product development, and process design.
Lazaro Tiant
Lazaro Tiant is an Investment Director, with a focus on sustainability. His responsibilities include strategy, product management and ESG integration for the North American market. Lazaro joined Schroders in 2021 and is based in New York.
Prior to joining Schroders, Lazaro was an Associate Director at Sustainalytics from 2018-2021, where he was responsible for advising asset managers, pensions, endowments and hedge funds on research-driven ESG integration and sustainable investing efforts, including sector and company materiality analysis, impact measurement, ESG engagement, and climate transition-risk assessments across Equity, Fixed Income, and Thematic strategies.
Lazaro was also an Analyst at MSCI from 2014-2017 within the RiskMetrics and Barra Analytics businesses. He holds a BA in Economics from Villanova University.
Brett Wayman
Brett Wayman serves as Senior Director, Sustainable Investing and leads Envestnet’s ESG and impact investing businesses, including strategic initiatives and the development and launch of new sustainable investing technology solutions, investment products, and practice management guidance.
Brett works closely with Envestnet’s enterprise clients on making these solutions and products available for their advisors and empower those advisors to understand trends in impact and ESG investing, feel more comfortable having the “values” conversation with their investor clients, and navigate the impact tools and investment strategies available through the Envestnet platform.
Prior to joining Envestnet, Brett spent 10 years in leadership roles with family offices in New York, Princeton, and Atlanta, where he worked with ultra-high-net-worth families on shifting multi-generation assets towards more “impactful” portfolio allocations. Brett has a degree in economics from Emory University and holds the Chartered SRI Counselor® designation. He serves on the board of directors of Urban Peak and Amigos de las Americas and on the board of advisors of Sovereignty First.
Evan Zall
With more than 25 years in strategic marketing and 15 years in sustainable finance communications, Evan believes that delivering the right messages can resolve a great number of complex challenges in the world. In addition to his role with ESG Forward, he owns Longview Strategies, a strategic marketing and communications firm that applies an impact-oriented marketing mindset to the intersection of sustainability, finance, and business.
Evan is a member of the Boston Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) Impact Committee, an advisory board member of New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, and a contributing author to the upcoming compendium on sustainable investing, “Aligning Hearts, Minds and Wallets: A Collective Experience (Reshaping Capitalism for the Greater Global Good).”

Ron Homer
Ron is Chief Strategist, U.S. Impact Investing. His background and extensive experience in community investing enables him to identify a broad range of solutions for clients. He is often sought to consult with leading government officials on a variety of community impact issues. Before joining the organization, he was co-founder and chief executive officer of an investment adviser specializing in community investments that was acquired by RBC GAM in 2008. Previously, Ron enjoyed an extensive banking career including thirteen years as president and chief executive officer of a large bank in Boston. He joined the financial services industry in 1969.
Sarah Bratton Hughes
Sarah Bratton Hughes is a senior vice president and head of ESG & Sustainable Investing for American Century Investments, a premiere investment manager headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. She is based in the company’s New York office.
Sarah is responsible for the driving and executing the firm’s sustainable investing strategy and the management of its ESG research platform and active ownership practices. In her role, she oversees the firm’s dedicated ESG & Investment Stewardship team. Sarah and her team serve as the center of ESG expertise for all investment teams – implementing firmwide ESG research and training, innovating ESG assessment tools, managing the ESG engagement and proxy voting protocol and driving sustainable investment initiatives and client solutions.
Prior to joining American Century Investments in 2022, Sarah was global head of sustainability solutions for Schroders where she was responsible for delivering innovative, best-in-class sustainability solutions for clients globally. Prior to that, she was head of sustainability for North America. In this role, Sarah led the strategic development and execution of sustainability initiatives. She was also responsible for ESG integration for all North American-based investment teams, including equities, fixed income and private assets. Previously, Sarah served as an investment director at Schroders, where she represented and articulated the firm’s value proposition for both U.S. equities and sustainability to clients globally. Prior to that, she held roles at Schroders as an associate produce manager and a product executive. Prior to joining Schroders, Sarah held roles at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and JP Morgan Chase. She has worked in the industry since 2007.
In 2021, Sarah was named to Crain’s list of Notable Women on Wall Street and won the Markets Media Women in Finance award for Excellence in Sustainability. Additionally, she has authored thought leadership and insights on U.S. sustainability policy as well as social sustainability topics globally.
Michael Hunstad, Ph.D.
Michael Hunstad is head of quantitative strategies at Northern Trust Asset Management. He serves on the asset management executive group, and leads all equity portfolio management and research for quantitative, index and tax-advantaged strategies.
Previously, Michael was director of quantitative research where he was responsible for leading Northern Trust Asset Management’s factor-based research and product development programs.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, he was head of research at Breakwater Capital, an algorithmic trading firm and hedge fund. Previously, he was head of quantitative asset allocation at Allstate Investments, LLC and a quantitative analyst with a long-short equity hedge fund. He also served as an adjunct professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Michael holds a Ph.D. in mathematics, an MBA in finance, an M.A. in econometrics and a bachelor’s degree in economics. He has published more than 80 articles and papers in professional and academic journals including Pensions & Investments, European Pensions, the Journal of Index Investing, the Alternative Investment Analyst Review, the Journal of Financial and Strategic Decisions and the Journal of Corporate Treasury Management. Michael has also spoken at more than 200 conferences across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand.
Bruce M. Kahn, Ph.D
I currently work as a Climate Solutions Specialist in the ESG Client Coverage Group at MSCI. My 18 yrs of financial services experience includes Climate Change Investment Research, Institutional Portfolio Management and Wealth Management, as well as E&S Risk assessments at firms such as Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Macquarie and SICM. I have also worked across various themes including clean tech, real estate, water, and agricultural-based investment strategies as well as ESG/SRI strategies.
I also serve as a Trustee and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation, and previously was a Member of the Board of the US SIF, Board Member and Treasurer of Confluence Philanthropy, and as a trustee and member of the finance committee of the Jesse Smith Noyes Foundation. I currently teach courses in Sustainable Finance, Statistics and Agriculture as an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Earth Institute in the Sustainability Management Program.
My academic background includes a PhD in Land Resources from University of Wisconsin, Madison, an MS in Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures from Auburn University, and a BA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut. I also served as an Agriculture Extension Agent in the United States Peace Corps in the Republic of Cameroon, (1989-1993).
Rachel Robasciotti
Rachel J. Robasciotti is a Black, queer woman and the Founder and CEO of Adasina Social Capital, an investment and financial activism firm that serves as a critical bridge between financial markets and social justice movements. Among her many recognitions, Rachel has been called upon to testify before the US Senate regarding the state of financial markets. She is also regularly featured in the media, including The New York Times, Bloomberg, CNBC, Forbes, and Financial Planning Magazine as a leader in the financial industry for integrating issues of racial, gender, economic, and climate justice into investment portfolios. In addition to her work at Adasina, Rachel serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Resource Generation and as a Board Member for One Fair Wage, as well as an advisor to the Indigenous Women’s Investment Fund for Native Women Lead.
